Bar replay

Step through history one bar at a time, and practise trading it on the paper account.

Live · a replay session on NSE:NIFTY 5m, paused 60 bars back. Step forward, or trade it in lots of 75.

Bar replay rewinds the chart to a bar you choose and lets you step forward from there as if each bar had just closed. Indicators, order-flow layers, legends and the last-price line all recompute over the history up to the cursor, so nothing can peek at the future.

Start a session

Press the replay button in the toolbar, or Shift+R. The replay bar opens under the toolbar.

Pick a start bar

Use the scissors (select start) and click a bar, or type a date and time into the date field. The chart cuts off everything after that bar.

Step, play and set the speed

Step forward, step back, or press play and choose a speed. Stepping back is supported: every step is a truncated view of the same history.

Trade it

The replay bar carries Buy, a quantity in the focused symbol's own lots and Sell, plus the one-click toggle; until the datafeed has given that symbol's lot size the buttons stay disabled and say why. Each step hands the new bar to the paper broker, so pending orders evaluate and brackets trigger. See Paper trading.

Exit

Press the × at the right end of the replay bar. Changing symbol or interval also ends the session. Drawings you made stay.

B, S and X only work during replay: a stray key should never trade a live chart.

Stepping back does not rewind the account

The ledger is a journal. Going back a bar moves the chart, not your fills. And ending a session does not trade the gap between the replay cursor and the live edge: a bracket the market crossed inside that gap does not fill.

What is off during replay

Alerts, live order routing and tools that read future bars are disabled. Kagi and point-and-figure charts cannot enter replay. The engine side is described in Replay and backtesting design.
