Order-flow layers
Footprint, volume profile, TPO, bubbles, VWAP, the order-book heatmap and CVD, and what each tells you.
Layers sit on any chart type and turn on from the Layers menu; the eye in the legend hides one without removing it. The footprint is a mode of its own: the Order flow button (or O) swaps the candle body for volume at each price.

| Layer | Shows | Tells a trader |
|---|---|---|
| Footprint | Bid × ask volume at every price inside each bar | Where inside the bar buyers and sellers actually traded, and who was aggressive |
| Volume profile | A histogram of volume by price over the visible range, with POC and value area | Where the market accepted price (fair value) and where it rejected it |
| TPO | Letters for the time spent at each price, per session | Acceptance by time rather than volume; the shape of the day |
| Volume bubbles | Circles on abnormally large bars, sized by volume or delta | Where a big participant hit the market |
| VWAP | The volume-weighted average price, per session or over all loaded bars | The average price paid today; institutions measure fills against it |
| Order-book heatmap | Resting bid and ask liquidity painted behind the bars (needs a depth feed) | Where size is waiting, and whether it pulls or holds when price arrives |
| Volume | A volume histogram pane, coloured by delta | Participation behind each move |
| CVD | Cumulative volume delta in its own pane, around zero | Whether aggressive buying or selling is building, and divergences with price |
- Footprint modes: Bid × Ask, Delta (buy minus sell per level), Profile (bars, no numbers) and Count (trade prints).
- Footprint toggles in Layers: POC outline, imbalance highlights and a per-bar footer with volume, delta and cumulative delta.
- VWAP, CVD and TPO reset at the session boundary from Settings → Chart → Session offset.
How to read them: Delta, cumulative delta and the footprint and Volume profile and VWAP.
Exact or estimated
With a footprint feed, delta is exact: the sum of ask volume minus bid volume. Without one, OHLC-only bars give an estimate. Trust the direction of an estimate, not its size.
